Those quality of life changes in the Pokémon game system sound pretty cool actually. The exp share thing would be great for Magikarp. Not a new RPG concept of course, there's the wagon in Dragon Quest games for instance.
Yeah palindromes are cool :) The following isn't a palindrome, but if you spell "drawer" backwards you get a nice "reward"!
