Just looked up that Leonardo DiCaprio Nickelodeon award thing. Pretty cool :)
They talk about ice skating and cold weather. Ross has seen very little of it! From Australia to Los Angeles? He must have experienced cold another time when he visited relatives here in Ireland or something.
Matthew Mercer's his friend? Cool... I saw him at a convention a few months ago. Didn't know who he was before that, but now I see his name in several places like voice credits... etc.
They then talk about seeing live bands.
So yeah those rails seem difficult to catch when you're trying to get up on them.
I like that freestyle beatbox rap at the end :)

JET GRIND RADIO PART 7 - MUSIC AND ANIMATION PASSIONS

Dave and Ross switch the subject to music! Very cool to hear about Ross' dad being into Celtic music and doing music for Stout Train!
I have something in common in the fact that I didn't care that much about music until the late 90s. Jet Set Radio and Gorillaz I loved back then too!
Ah music and animation... I love both too! Both are extremely important in video games as well. All these passions come together nicely too. Formal education can be really unhelpful alright.
The game is getting very tough! Hope they'll stick it out!

JET GRIND RADIO PART 6 - BEE YOURSELF ROSS

Dave and Ross play a level as Garam now.
Ross continues to talk about bullying and offers a message that it'll get better. That's nice of him :)
Ross also talks about growing up with ADD.
They meet another rival skater named Mew and do her challenge.
I think it was around this point I stopped playing because I couldn't get any better at the game. I'd love to come back to it myself!
Ross talks about a lot of other stuff too, about choosing peers, about when Steam Train started...
But yes, I remember when Steam Train started. It was all very confusing and upsetting when Jon left but I solidly believed in giving Ross and Danny a chance. It didn't take long for me to absolutely love both of them to bits :)
I think I do remember the bee at the beach story... I like the way Ross rationalises things with it too. I need to watch him on Twitch again sometime!

JET GRIND RADIO PART 4 - CULTURE SHOCKS AND SWITCHEROOS

Dave and Ross discuss their culture shock on discovering the rules of the road in the U.S.
When a car drags them out of the level they decide to go for another one instead. They're having the same trouble I had with the game with all the police ganging up at once!
They discuss anime for a bit. I never got into One Piece but I love One Punch Man and Dragon Ball!
That was really cool when they spray the helicopter in mid-air and then land on the steel rail just above the water.
Yeah the "V" sign is offensive over here and I'm surprised sometimes when I see foreigners do it so easily. I once saw Shigeru Miyamoto do it to Arino from Game Center CX. I know that it doesn't have the same meaning though!
I'd love to see that switcheroo thing happening with Ross on Markiplier's channel! Better wait until his voice recovers though!

Ross and Dave face the Love Shockers. "Suh-weet!". Dave likes that phrase. It reminds me of Peach saying it in Smash Bros.
While spraying and skating around, they talk about advancing A.I. and consciousness and stuff. Wish I had these two guys around when I was playing this game all those years ago!
I remember it being such a struggle alright skating around and trying to gain height. It's pretty funny when it looks like she's dancing to the beat! It's the song with the lyrics "The music just turns me on" and it's perfect for this moment!

JET GRIND RADIO PART 1 - IT'S JET SET RADIO!

Ross is joined by his friend Dave a.k.a. Boyinaband for some Jet Set Radio! Sorry, Jet Grind Radio. Neither of them are American, I'm not American, so why do we gotta say Jet Grind Radio?! It's the American version they're playing I suppose. I played this back in the day on my Irish Dreamcast and it was one of my favourites for that system!
This brings back memories! I remember being interested in roller skating or blading but my feet were always too big to find any in my size.
My favourite thing to do with the Dreamcast analogue stick was doing those directional arrow things while spraying tags!
Yes they drive on the left side of the road in Japan as well :) Ireland too.
Loved the music in this game too. It all just felt really modern and cool.
