CASTLEVANIA CHRONICLES PART 2 - FIREWATER LION

Very cool sequence with the rising water, apart from having to memorise stuff. Very nice Kung Pow reference too where Arin says "Badong".

CASTLEVANIA CHRONICLES PART 1 - HAPPY ANNIVERSARY!

Arin and Danny play this game in honour of Castlevania's 30th anniversary! Yay!
They name their save file GUYBRO.. and Arin explains the remake history of this particular release.
Is this the first game where Simon Belmont was depicted as a beautiful long red haired rockstar of a man? They actually kept this design for him since. There was a chibi version in Track & Field for DS and kind of a J-pop boybander version of him in Judgement.
Wow all those hunchbacks...
I've only ever heard Travis Touchdown use that swear...

PEPSI MAN PART 9 FINALE - EVERYBODY PEPSI!

Jimmy and Ross are getting much better after watching a speedrun! There's some merciful editing but they do get much further and there's a fast sliding section that's like Battletoads, like Battletoads etc :P
It's so difficult they get quiet and tense with the concentration. The atmosphere here is something else and the tension is contagious! That part where things get so narrow is really troublesome.
They eventually do make it though! It's so emotional and happy until Jimmy continues "...it's not the eeeeeend!" in the same emotional tone.
The final sequence is still taxing but not too hard looking and they're both spent and exhausted at this point and just want to polish the game off and be done with it. They can't even muster more excitement when they're done. The real life actor does their cheering for them when they finish!
So, beating the game unlocks a free play mode where you have 99 lives when you choose a stage. Kinda neat, but how do you get back to the menu if you change your mind? Ah well.
It was fun having Jimmy along for this. Pepsi Man and Pokémon Typing are both awesome and I'm very happy he brought them along :)

PEPSI MAN PART 8 - PEPSI FACTORY

Ross and Jimmy play through the Pepsi Factory! Very difficult place with conveyor belts everywhere. Sounds really difficult for an endless runner. These episodes seem popular enough!
Ross is so enraged he challenges Pepsi's PR team to a Twitter fight! It's pretty funny :) it would be funny to see some kind of a fun stunt on Twitter.
Wow, when one of them acts as a guide they do really well! It's like rally racing :)

PEPSI MAN PART 7 - THE TWO TRUCKS

Ross and Jimmy go on to the next stage, Pepsi City! Another very hard stage with lots of devastation and dead bodies everywhere(at least I think they're dead) and inverted controls when the bin is on Pepsi Man's head.
Brian's face flashes briefly on the screen! Had to stop and go back a few times to confirm it!
Jimmy talks about using smartphone dating apps. Interesting stuff. I've never used those. I know well about those reservations, meeting with strangers and stuff. Eek! Ross does a nice impression of a bad stranger, a Freddy Krueger who loves Pokémon GO! Haha :)
Ross is handling this level pretty well and taking the difficult parts in his stride. Failing isn't causing mental anguish so that's nice :)
Well, not raging on the same scale as he did with the last level.
Guys don't queef Jimmy!
Jimmy has a go as well and it proves too painful so it's back to Ross. Not that it's easy for him so he has Jimmy tell a story to help him cope with the difficulty. It's a toasted bagel story and getting the wrong order all because you don't understand what the other person is saying. That is the stuff of first world nightmares :(
After a while the pain comes back even more.
The game really doesn't look that difficult when you watch a longplay of it but now I really understand how difficult it could actually be.
Sonic Dash, a similar type of game, is pretty hard and much more unfair than this game looks, but this game looks really hard when I see them play it.
That thing with the two trucks catches them so much. It's on a bend too and with the inverted controls it can't be a nice thing to handle!
Eventually they get past it again. In the final stretch, panic sets in and every possible bad thing happens, including running out of time just before the end! They finally make it though and it's just such a beautiful thing :)
Oh those no PS1 memory card blues! I know them so well! Missing ones, full ones, third party ones... I've experienced every possible dilemma!

They do all kinds of things to cope with the log section on which they're still stuck.
Sarah Silverman I didn't like for a long time until I saw Wreck It Ralph. I appreciate her a lot more now :)
I'm seeing a pattern to these logs flying out. I don't know if I could memorise them if I was doing commentary. Times like these where being a Let's Player must be very tough. Ross manages it during long talks about penises and bullying. Different topics btw!

PEPSI MAN PART 5 - 'EY I'M ROLLIN' HERE

Ross and Jimmy talk about Wii games that increase your heart rate for a school project. Pretty interesting idea.
Jimmy takes over for a while as Ross probably would've died.
I actually prefer Coke... Pepsi is alright though. Weird thing is, when I watched the longplay of this game on YouTube, I preferred Pepsi.
There are a few jump cuts... the difficulty is getting very very real but they manage to finish the stage and reach the thirsty airplane survivors!
Then there's the rolling logs which are near impossible. They cope by saying random stuff in a New York accent :)

PEPSI MAN PART 4 - DESERT RUNNER

Ross and Jimmy fill us in on the desert exposition as they skipped it. I love the way this level looks! Haven't played it though and according to Jimmy, it's very tough. Ross groans painfully.
Wow, those truckers are worse than the one in Steven Spielberg's Duel. Ross uses a slowdown strategy to help himself get through.
Yikes, dramatic jump cut at the no memory card! Different era I suppose...
I'd love Ross to try out Buffalo flavour Hunky Dory's crisps :) give him a chance to get his own back!

PEPSI MAN PART 3 - A CONCERNED DANNY APPEARS

Ross and Jimmy could do with a refreshing fizzy cola beverage.
Poor Ross! I think this is the most angry I've ever seen him at a game! Danny comes in at one stage to check on them! He could hear Ross screaming through two soundproof doors!
That Red Pizza truck really has it in for him... Danny reassures him and Jimmy gives him a hug too.
Wow Ross is really freaking out... please don't bite the disc Ross!
He eventually does beat it and is unable to speak with the emotion. The actor guy then laughs while munching on some crisps. The laugh is kind of maniacal. Maybe he knows how crazy hard the level is!
Is the next one the desert one? I hope it is! That desert highway is pretty cool.

Ross and Jimmy take on the next level, which has gotten very difficult where things pop out of nowhere.
"Are you lion to me?" nice one Ross :)
Jimmy's story about "ghosting" is one about dating. Learning new terminology every day!

Wow, Ross is legit raging at the difficulty of this game... Haven't seen that much from him in a while! I'm glad that Jimmy is there to share the pain with him!

PEPSI MAN PART 1 - NINETIES POP!

Ross and Jimmy take on the legendary Pepsi Man! Not sure if this is Jimmy's doing but a lot of thanks goes to him for bringing these great games into the limelight!
Ross' first impressions are similar to mine! It's a joyful and hugely fun game that made me go out and buy loads of Pepsi when I first saw it on YouTube! Regular Pepsi of course, none of that Pepsi Max stuff. For some reason though, Pepsi Max seems to be a lot more plentiful in shops.
I love that panicked "Cowabunga!" Ross yelps when he skateboards down the hill!
The actor who does the live action segments in this game sounds nice. I like his couch potato character, which is the kind of thing we loved from the 90s. It makes you think of Homer Simpson or Beavis and Butthead.
Ross is really taken by the challenge of this game too! This is gonna be a fun series! :D

Arin and Danny are thrown into the game unceremoniously! Nice skillful editing by Kevin and then with the staple remover and everything.
Wow, the camera in this game is locked behind the main character.
Danny has many questions. Some dangerous, some safe.
Some romancey images of Chris fly by when Arin recounts the moment they both kissed in a video.
Wow, those exploding people remind me of the Lemmings. Must be the Psygnosis connection?
They imagine what it would be like for a fan of this game to write a letter of complaint to its critics. Aw!
The episode ends when they land on a platform they're not supposed to land on and the game freezes. Lots of jokes made after this!
I can imagine there actually being a PC port of this but there doesn't seem to be.

MORTAL KOMBAT WITH SPECIAL GUESTS ROB AND PATRICIA SCHNEIDER - REAL!

I've been looking forward to this! Arin and Danny have Rob Schneider and his wife Patricia Schneider as guests and playing Mortal Kombat!
Arin loses the first match to Patricia. She really kicked his butt! It's pretty obvious that the choice of game was for her!
They all talk about Rob's show Real Rob. Then Rob talks about Arin's reaction and how he liked it so much that they arranged to have Rob on Guest Grumps!
Rob talks about how the show was made and talks about critics and his friends too.
They also talk about making shows in general, their own shows. It's a cool thing to listen to! Being able to eat and sleep indoors and doing what you love as success is so true!
Rob doesn't know how to play, so Patricia is showing him here. It's fun and sweet :)
At one point the game breaks and they do a podcast, a Grumpcast!
Danny tells Rob about the jokes he loves in his movies. The repeated line in Deuce Bigalow makes me want to check those movies out! Also, the huge tall ladies? Wow :)
He talks about silliness and Monty Python and Fawlty Towers.
They talk about having Steve-O on earlier and about the first Jackass movie and how Rob loves that opening with the shopping trolley. It was brilliant! Set to that dramatic classical music and everything!
Rob said he laughed the hardest at the Jackass and Borat movies. That's kinda spooky as I'm very similar! I wonder if he's seen Kung Pow?
So yeah, great episode! May there be many more Guest Grumps! You know, I've always said that whoever was involved with Game Grumps was supremely talented, and now I'm gonna have to say the same for Rob Schneider too! He's brilliant listening in this episode anyway. Let's see some of his movies or his show!
