It doesn't look like there's any way to do this without the Fire Flower... Maybe you could do stuff with the feather like pound the ground with a dive but I'm not sure.
I love 80s interpretation of the future as well! A lot of 90s stuff is similar to that as well. Up until the Matrix anyway.

NES REMIX PACK PART 1 - TURN TAKING RECORD BREAKING

Arin and Barry play one of the Wii U must haves! I wish this was released physically on Wii U over here! We only got the digital versions.
They're doing challenges in turns and trying to get the fastest time. Very old school!
They start with Mario 3. Interesting way they're approaching their own challenges! They keep taking turns until someone fails to break the previous player's record. The falling and collecting the coins is quite tough and makes for some tense gameplay.
They then move on to Zelda 2 and finally Punch-Out!! Nice little challenges :)

Since they have a Game Boy Player they should be playing a lot more Game Boy games! Link's Awakening's gotta be done! But let's enjoy this first...

SUPER MARIO MAKER PART 109 - DUMPLINGS AND BANANAS

Arin and Danny continue "Temple of the Golden Donut" by RagnarokX. It's pretty creative!
They begin by having an argument about dumplings. Danny destroys Arin by mocking it with his joke banana argument! It's hilarious!
They have a discussion about the word "fat" being offensive and other words being offensive. I just watched a George Carlin thing about politically correct terminology that evolves over time. It's funny about words that weren't offensive being offensive today. Still worth knowing I suppose.
Thanks to a Super Mushroom, they manage to progress and finish the level. Woo!

It's the 3 hour finale! It's kinda weird watching all these at once considering the gap of recording between episodes and here they all are released every day lately!
That was funny when Ross turns into Papyrus and Barry turns into Sans while trying to voice the professor!
I love Full Metal Alchemist too Barry :) only the original series though because that's all I watched. It was cool. I watched it over 10 years ago. If it's garbage compared to "Brotherhood" or whatever it is then this later series must be super incredible.
Ross is drawing this time and Barry is making fun of the first shape being like a penis. Poor Ross. He has a runny nose again too.

Ross has to take a break to go to the bathroom and in the meantime, Barry has drawn a "Barry was here" on the screen! I like the funny denial, the photo proof of Barry doing a peace sign in front of his act of vandalism and his alibi of "poop ghost".
There's another toilet break further along too. It's a 3 hour session after all!
So finally the Mega Charizard X becomes a gun wielding Mega Charizard X. That would make for a weird Pokémon movie twist...
The professor must be feeling lonely with all the tutorial text that's happening at the end. The rival's painting looks pretty cool with the crazy flames. But not as good as Suzy's! Excellent work!
Barry and Ross give us a fond farewell since it's the end of this art series and on follows the promised special message segment!
Ross and Barry appear at the end of the episode to announce a real life gallery exhibit for Suzy's drawings! This is an excellent idea and such a wonderful thing to be inspired off of the regular show! Not to worry guys! I watched the whole video first!

Wow, the camera in this game is locked behind the main character.
Danny has many questions. Some dangerous, some safe.
Some romancey images of Chris fly by when Arin recounts the moment they both kissed in a video.
Wow, those exploding people remind me of the Lemmings. Must be the Psygnosis connection?
They imagine what it would be like for a fan of this game to write a letter of complaint to its critics. Aw!
The episode ends when they land on a platform they're not supposed to land on and the game freezes. Lots of jokes made after this!
I can imagine there actually being a PC port of this but there doesn't seem to be.
The music to this game is weird alright with its jazzy trumpet music. It sounds like early CD game console music. I can imagine it being the kind of music that's set to a SEGA Mega CD or Saturn game.

This cartoon is inspired by the moment in the Zelda Ocarina of Time playthrough where Saria was saying goodbye to Slurmp. Arin is Link, Danny is Navi in a fetching fairy version of his NSP outfit. Saria is this emotional high school girl at the end of graduation year with the yearbook and everything. So adorable!
Some good jokes and expressions in this cartoon. I like the "FIEND" on the name registration screen and the general yandere-like craziness of Saria as the cartoon goes on. That scary music added at the end is a nice touch!

They talk about shaving and morning routines. Might be some good tips there.
Arin got a present of a guitar from his dad's collection and the guitar's name is "Peggy". Very nice :) would be kinda cool to see Arin and Danny riffing it up with guitars!

Barry's worried about getting hay fever until he finds out it's not contagious. He was at MAGFest so he's worried about getting a cold.
Barry talked about his experience at MAGFest and about meeting fans that were Barry fans. What a nice thing :)

Arin and Danny ponder the funny notion of having a circle of friends named after the six main characters in Friends. I must admit, when they said the name "Ross" I thought of their Ross, not Ross from Friends. Game Grumps is more familiar to me now than Friends is. How about that! Wow!

Barry then tells another story about being in China and getting separated from the group he was with. Also about Amy, the girl who saved his life. D'aww
Barry then talks more about being a foreigner in a strange land and being stared at. Fascinating stuff. Especially the part about going to the cinema to see this film called Battle: LA.
I never saw the movie Armageddon...

Danny tells Arin about the movie Indecent Proposal. I remember that 90s movie being famous for its time but I never hear anyone talking about it anymore. Danny offers a bit of wisdom :)

That was nice about the Pokémon stories :) I knew there was 3D Pokémon fighting in Stadium because magazines about the upcoming N64 were amazing back then.

I think the movie with Garlic Jr. is canon but I'm not sure.
Re: the other Saiyans popping up. It's kinda like when the Smurfs had no female Smurfs but then Smurfette showed up and then Sassette showed up and the old lady Smurf showed up etc.
I'd LOVE to watch another Dragon Ball movie :) and I wanna see it in a cinema... The only one I saw in the cinema was Dragonball Evolution :(

Yeah Nintendo World Championships was fun last year with Arin in it... I remember everyone bringing the VC Menu up by accident when they were trying to shoot diagonally in Super Metroid.
I watched all of the Lord Of The Rings movies once as well and that was enough. Not back to back though.
Charizard does kinda look like Dracula when its mouth is open...
Barry goes to the bathroom and Ross does a Bob Ross impression and it's lovely :)
Detective Pikachu sounds funny.
Very nice job on the muscle lighting Ross :)
Not really interested in Suicide Squad either.
The whites of Charizard's eyes look pretty cool against the shadowing :)
Hahaha imagine Markiplier being accused of stealing Ross' Megaton voice after Ross modelling it after him! :D

It's Snoopy! Barry's channeling the spirit of Charles M. Schulz! If it wasn't for the black ear Snoopy looks like the Tamagotchi that looks like a dog, though I haven't a clue what its name is.
It's gas the way it's a Snoopy head and a long Lucario body! Woodstock is drawn here too.
Yeah they love Peanuts in Japan! Snoopy Concert on the Super Famicom was made by Nintendo and was a great game with lovely music.
I liked the new Peanuts movie. It was lovely. I guess the bullying wasn't as harsh as it was in the old comics but Charlie Brown still goes through a lot of his trademark angst.

Yeah they love Peanuts in Japan! Snoopy Concert on the Super Famicom was made by Nintendo and was a great game with lovely music.
I liked the new Peanuts movie. It was lovely. I guess the bullying wasn't as harsh as it was in the old comics but Charlie Brown still goes through a lot of his trademark angst.

KATAMARI FOREVER PART 11 - 7650 NAMCO ZERO

What's with that arcade high score thing on the stage fail screen? Wait... OOOOO! OOO! The high score says 7650, which is goroawase for Namco! :) well, the 765 part anyway.
Arin tells Danny about Monster Hunter while they do the stage again. Danny then brings up the idea of doing Final Fantasy VII on the show. Kind of a brave thing to do to take on a long turn based RPG... but of course they've done Pokémon and Undertale so that's kind of opened things up.
Of course, the idea of doing a long RPG at all opens up so many possibilities and many fan requests! I would like to see them do Final Fantasy Adventure as it's a lot like Zelda 1 and Mario & Luigi Superstar Saga as they can play that on a GameCube and use two controllers. There are many many RPGs fans would like them to play though I'd say!

Never heard of Professor Layton and the malignant growth until now! Just had a look there and it's pretty silly. The way that doctor trivialises the cancer news with a puzzle is painfully funny and Luke is just... insane. The doctor then turns into Caroline Aherne's character from the Fast Show that comments on peoples purchases. I'm not too fond of the near constant screaming but there's some good ideas in there. Six parts too!

Lots of funny actions of cute Toads doing horrific war things and parodying war movies too. What's especially funny is Mario happily plodding along at the end until he reaches the area devastated by war. It's a different game now!
Some Waddle Dees have spears in the Kirby games too.

It's nice to have an episode dedicated to opening presents and to involve everyone. I guess it's like an Overwatch Christmas. It would be a chore to go through all 100 of these alone I'd say. I guess that's why opening presents is done together with other people.

There's something sublime listening to Arin and Danny talk about vocal health and screamy rock music while beating up monsters in a mountain ruins area. I guess I can add that it makes me think of Mel Blanc doing Yosemite Sam. Pretty tough voice to do.

Ross and Barry return triumphantly to this series! I haven't had a chance to blog about it yet becase the last episode was some time before I started this blog, but it's really good and it's got loads of laughs!
They both appear before the video to explain the time capsule effect of these particular episodes and how one of them is a bumper 3 HOURS LONG! Holy mackerel!
They start with an Austin Powers 3 joke. (no it hasn't been THAT far back). Poor Ross has a poopy tummy...
We called it woodwork instead of wood shop in school as well. It wasn't violent thankfully.

Before the episode, Brian and Barry appear in an advertorial skit for Lootcrate. They had me going for a moment. For a moment I thought it had something to do with the new BOXBOXBOY! game on the 3DS, but nope! It's for Lootcrate :)
Why not smile? I've never played the BOXBOY! games but from what I can see, you're not opening them, just rearranging them. The skit would have to be rewritten if it was for the game! I wouldn't rewrite this skit! I love it! Barry and Brian work amazingly well together. Nice to see different dynamics in action with different pairings. Grumpcade is a great thing :)
This is another paragraph praising the skit and I'm sorry(not sorry) but isn't it just brilliant the way the camera just slowly reveals Barry lying on that table? It definitely caught me off guard and it's funny too :) Paul Greengrass wouldn't do something like that!

CREEPY PASTA ASMR FRIDAYS! THE RAKE

Whoops! The first half of this video has last week's ASMR episode. That was 15 minutes and 27 seconds long if you want to go right to the end of that story. Someone in the comments section kindly pointed out that this week's story starts at 18 minutes and 25 seconds. Listening in between gives you a fly-on-the-wall experience of the Grumps recording process! That is, if you're a fly with no eyes. Just ears. The sound of Suzy relaxing is relaxing :)
Suzy suggests headphones and a blanket for maximum comfiness. Way ahead of ya :) it's a damp misty night in Ireland but this story is making its way to me just fine.
That creature in the thumbnail? That's not a placeholder...
This story is quite spooky. I'm reminded of a few things like her Boogeyman playthrough, which is quite fun to watch!
The other thing I'm reminded of is the feeling of a dog's presence. It's in a bad state so you want to hug the poor thing but of course it's also this terrifying creature like that baby in Eraserhead. Except maybe it's a puppy instead of a baby.
I appreciate Suzy's wrap up at the end of these stories. I'd be quite unsettled if she got cut off suddenly or something. It's good reassurance, from one ear to the other!

Listening in between gives you a fly-on-the-wall experience of the Grumps recording process! That is, if you're a fly with no eyes. Just ears. The sound of Suzy relaxing is relaxing :)
Suzy suggests headphones and a blanket for maximum comfiness. Way ahead of ya :) it's a damp misty night in Ireland but this story is making its way to me just fine.
That creature in the thumbnail? That's not a placeholder...
This story is quite spooky. I'm reminded of a few things like her Boogeyman playthrough, which is quite fun to watch!
The other thing I'm reminded of is the feeling of a dog's presence. It's in a bad state so you want to hug the poor thing but of course it's also this terrifying creature like that baby in Eraserhead. Except maybe it's a puppy instead of a baby.
I appreciate Suzy's wrap up at the end of these stories. I'd be quite unsettled if she got cut off suddenly or something. It's good reassurance, from one ear to the other!

Arin starts while Danny has a mouthful of Honey Smacks. Like Arin, I didn't like them or Sugar Puffs when I was younger but I think they're fine now. They're kind of uncommon over here. Maybe they're import only?

Wow the chick chuck! Interesting name for the remote control! That Zenith remote with only 4 buttons can be found easily on Google images. It has "SPACE COMMAND" inscribed on it which is super cool!

DARK SOULS III PART 68 - UNCLE FESTER'S COVENANT

Arin and Danny enjoy a nice cutscene before running through the darkness.
For our entertainment they show us Soul of Cinder before they get wiped out by it.
Tasmanian tiger looks kinda cool and yeah the jaw opening looks fearsome. I remember Wendal T. Wolf from Taz-Mania :) obvious inspiration.

Nice title for a creepy pasta story. This story isn't actually creepy but is quite sweet and is more of a story with hurt/comfort/angst elements. It's about a girl's guardian angel and it is nice. I love the way Suzy presents it though and wraps it up at the end with a "what if you had a guardian angel there right now?" type of thing. She's a good presenter.

I especially love the sitcom portion of this cartoon with the added laugh track and everything! It's a great way to illustrate the point about the ordering of the pancakes being like a sitcom skit! Well done!

They talk more about Kubrick films. I actually love Eyes Wide Shut! If I had seen it as a teenager I would've loved it even more I'd say. Brian's right about the slow speaking pace but I like that deliberate pace too.

I don't remember this game specifically but I remember the craze and how cool this thing would've been seen back then!
Looks pretty tough and a lot like Road Rash, right down to the batting of opponents. Hanging on to cars looks pretty cool and rebellious. Poor Arin has it pretty tough, so Danny gives them one more episode to try to get a better rank.

SONIC AND THE BLACK KNIGHT PART 7 - GIVE ME A BREAK KNUCKLES!

Arin and Danny start on a dinger! They run across plains and face big knights.
They meet Knuckles AKA Sir Gawain and have a face off in this Stonehenge like area. They make fun of it at first by running backwards so he can't reach, listening to the music before taking him on. It's a pretty cool and ridiculous fight :)
After beating him there's another amazing cutscene where Sonic stops Knuckles from suicide by saying "Give me a break!"

You're continuing to do pretty well with KittyKatGaming and recently with the sweet creepypasta ASMR videos! You're working on lots of cool stuff! I admit I don't watch your Mortem3r channel much but when you're on Game Grumps, I never miss it!

It's about a guy whose computer monitor starts displaying messages to him, prophetic ones. There's a sad and emotional part where the protagonist gets involved with a girl. Later various other sad things happen, some happy stuff happens but it ends very sadly.

Suzy reads a story voted the scariest. Once again I'm using headphones to listen to this. I'm not using the Wii U Game Pad to listen to this though, as the volume isn't quite what I'd like.

SONIC AND THE BLACK KNIGHT PART 4 - LANCELOT THE HEDGEHOG

They do a lot of Sonic imitations in this playthrough!
I don't remember the Mimic but yeah... that's in like every fantasy game.
They face Shadow aka Lancelot and beat him easily. He's not so easy next time you fight him! I remember that troublesome battle pretty well... This first one is easy though.
That "Fight The Knight" butt-rock theme is awesome though :)

Ross and Arin meet a girl in the hallway and Ross gives her a lovely breathy voice. She's got lovely hair :)
She drags them to hide from other girls wandering around the hallways.
Oh no Arin says Game Grumps instead of Steam Train again! Ross corrects him though. I can imagine how funny The Grumpsons would be :)

Arin and Danny tell the story about Arin being woken up by a loud burp! They're playing this game and wonder if they played it before. I looked it up and they played this version once before, and the NES version before that too. I don't remember myself but I did watch them all when those episodes came out!
Oh poor Danny with not getting the turn with the Bon Jovi question! The Joker one was even worse! It continues with the Bennifer thing and... oh it's just a trainwreck for him the whole way through. Poor guy!

Some fun dialogue going on and the large range of game reference power ups keep the shmup experience fun and fresh! I quite like what's going on.
